Help with college biology (intro & advanced) for majors and non-majors

If it's sink or swim, I am your flotation device
Freshman bio is the same biology as in high school, but there is so much more of it, and of everything else too. You have no time to stare at any one page for very long: you need to get it, and move on. On the bright side, there is so much more detail now that biological processes start to make perfect sense, and everything comes together. There is more need for understanding and less need for memorization. I will help you understand the hard bits, and work with you on reasoning everything out from the big picture to the details.

Study skills
Time is limited, the amount of work is enormous, and failure is not an option. Effective study skills are the key to absorbing the material so it will stick and be available for instant recall during the test. Students learn how to organize the material, read for essential information, extract and absorb important points, structure the knowledge, and formulate full credit answers to essay questions.

Papers
Papers typically make up a significant portion of the course grade. I can advise you on conducting a literature search, reading source material and extracting information, and making an outline. I can help make the text flow, polish your prose for style and clarity, and dot the i's and cross the t's up to and including the references at the end, so you can write the paper and get the grade. I am also handy with image editing, 3D protein software, and t-tests, chi square and p-values.

Help with particular topics
Whether you are utterly perplexed by the MAP kinase kinase kinase cascade, or slightly confused by immunology, let me know what specifics you need help with, and what textbook you are using. I will get materials together and come prepared.
